Structured Query Language is used to manage relational databases (think INFS1000!) Data analysts have to retrieve data from databases in order to analyse and perform statistical machine learning models. The competency of analysing data is becoming an increasingly useful and highly valued skill for all students. Regardless of your major, we can guarantee that the skills you learn from SQL will be helpful in the future.
The focus of the workshop is to introduce the SQL language, including how to query databases using statements, clauses, operators, aggregate functions, as well as inner and outer joins. You will also hear about the relevance of SQL from Deloitte representatives who work with databases and consult in Enterprise Systems.
This workshop is FREE but there are LIMITED spots due to room capacity. As such, only register if you can come to the workshop. Food will be provided so come along and be sure to not miss out on adding this to your resume!
